Our Last Swimming Lesson with our Swimming Coaches

Today was the last day with our coaches and it was fun with them. We learnt how to float on our backs and control our breathing in case you  get in trouble in the boat’s. We also learnt how to do backstroke and freestyle with the one arm and on board. With the coaches I liked it when we played  games and had races in the pool. Something I want to improve is my breathing because sometimes I forget to breath and I get tired really fast.

Malakai Fekitoa's WHY

WALT: show an understanding of someones why

I have done the most best writing ever, because Malakai fekitoa is one of my favourite Rugby player. What I have did is that I have explained what he achieved, what happen, and how it happened. I found this really fun, and I hope to do this again.

Room 6 Site Treasure Hunt

WALT: easily find our learning on our class site.

We did a treasure hunt on our class site. We did it to become familiar with the site. We did it so it can be easier for us to find what we need to do if we need to find something on the class site. We did it so we know what to do if Miss D gives us a task.

How we found it:

  1. Ferri: I found it Quite easy because we were on the class site and Miss Donaldson mostly shows us where it is.
  2. Indira: I found it quite easy to find the tasks Miss D gave Ferry and it helped me learn how to do a link.

Creating a Class Contract

Today in room 6 we created a class contract.  First, we collaborated on an AnswerGarden (a word cloud app).  We shared our ideas on "What helps you learn?". The answers that were repeated grew larger.

What helps you learn? Click here to look at the actual AnswerGarden
Next, we added ideas to another answer garden, asking "What DOESN'T help you learn?"  It turns out that our ideas are pretty similar.

What doesn't help you learn? Click here to look at the actual AnswerGarden
After this, we choose the most important ideas from our AnswerGardens and turned them into some class guidelines. We did this in small groups.

Then we had a class discussion of all our ideas.  We added some together and made them perfect! As a way of showing that we agree to our class contract, we each cut out and decorated a puzzle piece.

We will use the class treaty to create a happy and safe classroom.  A classroom where every one can feel a part of.
